Projects

Our priority #1 project involves raising funds to help offset the Borough's cash match obligations for the repair and refurbishment of the Dr. Floyd L. Moreland Dentzel-Looff Carousel. The carousel was disassembled in November 2019 by Ohio based Carousel & Carvings and moved to a temporary workshop in Seaside Heights.  At the same time, the Borough is constructing a new pavilion building to house the carousel by 2022. The Borough was awarded a $750,000 Green Acres Program grant to be applied to the cost of the new building. The Borough also was awarded a NJ Historic Trust grant in the amount of $750,000 that will be applied to the cost of repairing the carousel's machinery and decking, and major repairs to carved figures and chariots if funding remains available. Both grants require substantial cash matches.
