The Borough Council designated the Seaside Heights Historical Society as the official fundraising organization for the Dr. Floyd L. Moreland Dentzel-Looff Carousel. Seaside Heights Historical Society is a registered New Jersey non-profit corporation and is an exempt organization under IRS 501(c)(3).

Our priority #1 project involves raising funds to help offset the Borough's cash match obligations for the repair and refurbishment of the Dr. Floyd L. Moreland Dentzel-Looff Carousel. The carousel will be disassembled in October by Ohio based Carousel & Carvings and moved to a temporary workshop in Seaside Heights.  At the same time, the Borough is finalizing plans for the design, funding, bidding and construction of a pavilion building to house the carousel by the end of 2021. The Borough recently applied for a $1.5 million Green Acres Program grant to be applied, if awarded, to the cost of the new building. The Borough also applied in May 2019 for a NJ Historic Trust grant in the amount of $750,000 that, if awarded, will be applied to the cost of repairing the carousel's machinery and decking, and major repairs to carved figures and chariots if funding remains available.
